Don’t get distracted. Lock eyes with the One who saves. God calls you to courage. Be strong, not by your own might, but because He is with you.
Our Father (The Lord’s Prayer)
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
A Psalm of Praise and Thanks
Psalm 9
I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
When my enemies retreat, they stumble and perish before You. For You have upheld my just cause; You sit on Your throne judging righteously.
You have rebuked the nations; You have destroyed the wicked; You have erased their name forever and ever.
The enemy has come to eternal ruin, and You have uprooted their cities; the very memory of them has vanished.
But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment. He judges the world with justice; He governs the people with equity.
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; proclaim His deeds among the nations. For the Avenger of bloodshed remembers; He does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.
Be merciful to me, O LORD; see how my enemies afflict me! Lift me up from the gates of death, that I may declare all Your praises—that within the gates of Daughter Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.
The nations have fallen into a pit of their making; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.
The LORD is known by the justice He brings; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. Higgaion Selah.
The wicked will return to Sheol—all the nations who forget God. For the needy will not always be forgotten; nor the hope of the oppressed forever dashed.
Rise up, O LORD, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your presence.
Lay terror upon them, O LORD; let the nations know they are but men. Selah.
A Psalm for Mercy and Help
Psalm 10
In arrogance the wicked hunt down the weak; let them be caught in the schemes they devise. For the wicked man boasts of his heart’s desire; he blesses the greedy and despises the LORD.
In his pride the wicked man does not seek Him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
His ways are always prosperous; Your judgments are high above him; he sneers at all his foes. He says in his heart, “I will not be shaken; from generation to generation I will not incur disaster.”
His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression; trouble and iniquity are under his tongue.
He lies in wait near the villages; in secret places he slays the innocent; his eyes watch stealthily for the helpless.
He lies in wait like a lion in a thicket; he lies in wait to snatch the afflicted; he catches the afflicted, drawing them into his net.
He crushes them; they bow down, and the helpless fall by his might. He says in his heart, “God has forgotten; He hides His face and will never see it.”
Arise, O LORD! Lift up Your hand, O God! Do not forget the helpless.
Why does the wicked man despise God? He says in his heart, “You will not hold me to account.”
But You have seen the trouble and grief; You have taken note to repay it. The helpless one commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless.
Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer; call him to account for his wickedness until none is left to be found.
The LORD is King forever and ever; the nations will perish from His land.
You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; You encourage them, and You listen to their cry, to defend the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere mortals from the earth may strike terror no more.
Brief Prayer
Lord, turn my gaze away from distractions and fears.
Lift my eyes to see You, my Savior, who never fails.
When the path feels heavy, remind me of Your victory on the cross.
Keep my focus on Your promises and not on my struggles.
Strengthen my faith to run with endurance the race before me.
Jesus, be my vision, my joy, and my unshakable anchor.
Amen.
