The Word of God Is Your Sword

Hi, Friend!

Fight back with truth. The Word is sharper than any temptation. You are not helpless. You have the sharpest weapon: God’s Word. Learn it. Speak it. Fight with it.

Our Father (The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

A Psalm of Praise and Thanks

Psalm 119:97-112

O how I love Your law! It is my meditation all day long. Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me.

I have more insight than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation. I have more understanding than the elders, for I have kept Your precepts.

I have kept my feet from every evil path, that I may keep Your word. I have not turned aside from Your judgments, for You Yourself have taught me.

How sweet are Your words to my taste—sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from Your precepts; therefore I hate every false way.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, that I will keep Your righteous judgments.

I am severely afflicted; O LORD, revive me according to Your word. Accept, O LORD, the freewill offerings of my mouth, and teach me Your judgments.

My life is continually in my hand, yet I do not forget Your law. The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from Your precepts.

I have inherited Your testimonies forever, for they are the joy of my heart. I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, even to the very end.
A Psalm for Mercy and Help

Psalm 25

To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, in You I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me.

No one who waits for You will ever be put to shame, but those who are faithless without cause will be disgraced. Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths.

Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; I wait for You all day long. Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and Your loving devotion, for they are from of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth or my rebellious ways; according to Your loving devotion remember me, because of Your goodness, O LORD. Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He shows sinners the way.

He leads the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. All the paths of the LORD are loving devotion and faithfulness to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.

For the sake of Your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, for it is great. Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will show him the way he should choose.

His soul will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land. The LORD confides in those who fear Him, and He makes His covenant known to them.

My eyes are always on the LORD, for He will pull my feet out of the net. Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.

The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free me from my distress. Look upon my affliction and my misery, and forgive all my sins.

See how my enemies have multiplied and how fiercely they hate me. Guard my soul and deliver me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in You.

May integrity and uprightness protect me, for I wait for You. Redeem Israel, O God, from all their troubles.
