Whatever binds you, God’s power can break it today. Chains don’t stand a chance in His presence. Jesus didn’t just die for your sin—He died for your freedom.
Our Father (The Lord’s Prayer)
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
A Psalm of Praise and Thanks
Psalm 118:1-17
Let the house of Aaron say, “His loving devotion endures forever.” Let those who fear the LORD say, “His loving devotion endures forever.”
In my distress I called to the LORD; the LORD answered and set me free. The LORD is on my side; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
The LORD is on my side as my helper; I will look in triumph on my enemies. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.
It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the LORD I cut them off.
They surrounded me on every side, but in the name of the LORD I cut them off. They swarmed around me like bees, but they were extinguished like burning thorns; in the name of the LORD I cut them off.
I was pushed so hard I was falling, but the LORD helped me. The LORD is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.
Shouts of joy and salvation resound in the tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the LORD performs with valor! The right hand of the LORD is exalted! The right hand of the LORD performs with valor!”
I will not die, but I will live and proclaim what the LORD has done.
A Psalm for Mercy and Help
Psalm 102
Incline Your ear to me; answer me quickly when I call. For my days vanish like smoke, and my bones burn like glowing embers.
My heart is struck down and withered like grass; I even forget to eat my bread. Because of my loud groaning, my bones cling to my flesh.
I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins. I lie awake; I am like a solitary bird on a rooftop.
All day long my enemies taunt me; those who mock me use my name as a curse. For I have eaten ashes like bread and mixed my tears with my drink,
because of Your indignation and wrath, for You have picked me up and cast me aside. My days are like a lengthening shadow, and I wither away like grass.
But You, O LORD, sit enthroned forever; Your renown endures to all generations. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show her favor; the appointed time has come.
For Your servants take delight in her stones, and favor her very dust. So the nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth Your glory.
For the LORD will rebuild Zion; He will appear in His glory. He will heed the prayer of the destitute; He will not despise their plea.
Let this be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD: “The LORD looked down from His holy sanctuary; from heaven He gazed upon the earth,
to hear the groaning of the prisoners and to release those condemned to death.” Then the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion and His praise in Jerusalem,
when the peoples and kingdoms assemble to serve the LORD. He has broken my strength in mid-course; He has shortened my days.
I said: “O my God, do not take me in the middle of my days! Your years go on through all generations.
In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing You will change them, and they will be passed on. But You remain the same, and Your years will never end.
The children of Your servants will live in Your presence, and their descendants will be established before You.”
Brief Prayer
Lord, You are the One who breaks every chain.
Set me free from the sins and habits that entangle me.
Help me not to return to the bondage You’ve delivered me from.
Fill me with the courage to walk in Your freedom daily.
Let fear, shame, and lies lose their grip on me.
Clothe me with Your Spirit so I can live unbound.
May my life proclaim the liberty You bring.
Amen.
