Sovereign Lord, the world tries to convince me that I am always one purchase, one accolade, or one comfort away from being happy. My heart is quick to covet what others have. Cleanse me of this poison. Give me a deep, unshakeable godliness that is coupled with raw contentment. Remind me of how short this life is and how fragile worldly riches are. Let my true wealth be found solely in my relationship with You. Amen.

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
