Psalm 131:2

Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Father, my soul is often like a crying, restless infant—constantly demanding immediate comfort, throwing tantrums over small discomforts, and growing bitter when things don’t go my way. Help me to behave and quiet myself today. Teach my heart to be content simply being near You, wanting Your presence more than I want Your gifts. Let me rest in Your lap with an open, quiet spirit, fully satisfied just to belong to You. Amen.
