Isaiah 54:7

“For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion I will bring you back.

Lord, I often live as if that “brief moment” of Your silence is the whole story. When I am in the middle of a trial or struggling, it feels like You are miles away. But the truth is, it is usually I who have wandered. Thank You that Your compassion is far greater than my tendency to stray. You always pursue me with mercy. Forgive my heart for feeling abandoned when I am actually being held. Bring me back to the center of Your love today. Amen.
