Abide in the Vine

Hi, Friend!

Your strength comes from staying connected to Jesus. God’s Spirit grows love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in you.

Our Father (The Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

A Psalm of Praise and Thanks

Psalm 92

It is good to praise the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High, to proclaim Your loving devotion in the morning and Your faithfulness at night with the ten-stringed harp and the melody of the lyre.

For You, O LORD, have made me glad by Your deeds; I sing for joy at the works of Your hands. How great are Your works, O LORD, how deep are Your thoughts!

A senseless man does not know, and a fool does not understand, that though the wicked sprout like grass, and all evildoers flourish, they will be forever destroyed. But You, O LORD, are exalted forever!

For surely Your enemies, O LORD, surely Your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.

But You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; with fine oil I have been anointed. My eyes see the downfall of my enemies; my ears hear the wailing of my wicked foes.

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.

In old age they will still bear fruit; healthy and green they will remain, to proclaim, “The LORD is upright; He is my Rock, and in Him there is no unrighteousness.”

A Psalm for Mercy and Help

Psalm 42

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

My tears have been my food day and night, while men say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I walked with the multitude, leading the procession to the house of God with shouts of joy and praise among the festive throng.

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.

My soul is downcast within me; therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan and the peaks of Hermon—even from Mount Mizar.

Deep calls to deep in the roar of Your waterfalls; all Your breakers and waves have rolled over me.

By day the LORD decrees His loving devotion; by night His song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.

I say to God my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why must I walk in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?”

Like a crushing of my bones, my enemies taunt me, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.
Brief Prayer

Lord Jesus, keep me rooted in You, the true Vine.
Let Your Spirit flow through me, nourishing my heart with grace.

Prune away what is unfruitful and strengthen what brings You glory.
Help me to remain in Your Word, drawing life from Your promises.

Guard me from self-reliance and fill me with Your power.
Through abiding in You, may my life bear fruit that honors Your name.
Amen.
